One to One: Day 35
By Tracey Armstrong
Hosea 10:12 Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the LORD, till He comes and rains righteousness on you. (NKJV)
Farmers always sow with an expectation to reap. I don’t think that there would be very many farmers in the earth if the farmer had major doubts about receiving a crop for his or her sowing. We should have the same mindset when we sow in righteousness.
You must realize that when you sow, you sow to yourself. No one reaps from what you sow as you do. If you sow evil, then you reap evil. If you sow prosperity, then you reap prosperity. If you sow in righteousness, then you will reap in righteousness. God wants you to reap in rightness, in uprightness, and in right standing with God.
If you are in the right place with God, then you will reap the right thing from God. Sow to yourself righteousness and reap to yourself mercy. Mercy meaning kindness! If you sow righteousness, you will reap in kindness. I believe that you can have kindness from God and from man. Put good seed in good ground and you will reap a harvest of good things. You reap what you sow. Don’t try to get away with something just because you think that no one will find out. This doesn’t work, it does not matter who knows or doesn’t know. The second you sow something, you have initiated a spiritual law. You will reap exactly what you have sown. This can be a blessing. If you don’t reap in this world, you will reap in the world to come. If you stay hidden in your unrighteous sowing, the fruit of what you have been sowing will soon be seen. Darkness will always be exposed; because you can do nothing against the truth, you can only work in conjunction with the truth.
For the evil and wrong seeds that I have sown, I pray that You will release me from my debt. I repent and long to receive Your mercy. I want to sow righteousness from now on.
If we reap what we sow, and there is a harvest that you desire to reap, you must sow as a seed what you want to reap. If you want salvation to come to someone that you love, then sow in prayer. If you desire to reap in finances, then you must sow financially. Sow love, reap love; sow joy, reap joy; and whatever you sow you shall reap. Sow according to your desired harvest.
